BULLETIN # 3 DECEMBER 2005 Jamboree date: August 8-16, 2006. JAMBOREE LAUNCH The jamboree was officially launched on November 29, 2005 at Kings House, the home of our Governor General and Chief Scout, Sir Howard Cooke. JAMBOREE WEB SITE You may now access the application and medical forms from the jamboree website. The address is: www.caribbeanjamboree.bravehost NATIONAL FLAG Please bring 3 of your National Flags: 1 is to be handed in to the Scout Association of Jamaica for the avenue of flags, 1 for the campsite, and the third for the Parade. REGISTRATION Please be reminded that notice of proposed numbers should have been submitted by September 30, 2005. Persons who have not yet submitted numbers are asked to do so now. CAMP FEE PAYMENT As some persons did not receive the information in time, we have adjusted the payment schedule as follows:-off date to January 15, 2006. US$ By January 15, 2006 50.00 (non-refundable) By March 31, 2006 100.00 By June 30, 2006 50.00 200.00 Payment should be made via bank draft, payable to Scout Association of Jamaica and sent to: Scout Association of Jamaica 2D Camp Road Kingston 5 Jamaica, W.I. Please advise us when you have sent off the payment(s). PROGRAMME The programme includes: a Gilwell Reunion, Adult Leaders’ Night, Youth Forum, Chief Commissioners’ Conference and tours. Each participant will be entitled to participate in 2 tours as a part of the package; however, arrangements can be made for additional tours, at a cost. A detailed programme will be sent to you in the next bulletin. HOME HOSPITALITY Home hospitality will be provided for interested persons at the end of the jamboree. Please have each person indicate whether he/she is interested or not. We look forward to seeing you at the jamboree.

Jamboree date: August 8-16, 2006. VENUE The Jamboree will be held at Nature’s Way, Portland, twenty-six miles from Port Antonio, the tourist capital of the East. It’s a tropical haven fingered by the shimmering Caribbean Sea… The majestic serenity of the mist covered Blue Mountains gently encircling… sparkling springs, tranquil rivers flowing. CAMP FEE Fee: US$ 200.00 (new figure) The Jamboree fee covers food (ration), transportation to and from the airport, tours - two per participant, insurance, programme materials and souvenir. Please note that the fee has been reduced to US$200.00. A registration fee of US$50.00 per participant should be paid by December 31, 2005. This is non refundable. A second amount of US$100.00 should be paid by March 31, 2006 and the balance of US$50.00 before or on arrival at camp. EQUIPMENT Contingents should take with them all their camping equipment (including tents), except for stoves and fuel for cooking.
MEALS Meals will be prepared within Patrols. Supplies will be had from the quartermaster each day. A copy of the menu will be supplied shortly. QUALIFICATIONS Scouts must at least have completed the Scout Standard. They must be at least 12 years of age by July 1, 2006, but have not reached their 18th birthday by August 3, 2006. The Jamboree is open to Scouts, Venture Scouts and Explorers. Please be reminded that notice of proposed numbers should be submitted by September 30, 2005.
